Lago d’Orta is situated in Northern Italy, where guests stay at the sumptuous Hotel San Rocco. The trip includes a number of swims, from 1 to 3.5km, exploring different parts of the lake, each starting at the hotel’s private jetty. There are swims along the shoreline, as well as crossings to St Julian Island (pictured) and through the lake itself. Water temperatures are a comfortable 18-22 degrees Celsius. Non-swimming partners are welcome. Other highlights include swim coaching from the dedicated swim guides in the hotel pool, dinner on St Julian Island and relaxing in the medieval town of Orta.
